So Jim and I have been doing some local diving in the past year so I get some experience for an upcoming trip. Decided to take the GoPro Hero 7 to Edmonds Underwater Park in Seattle this week, and was impressed with the video! I didn't do any color correction in post-this is straight out of the camera. Edmonds is a great site to get used to cold water diving by the way-shallow, lots to see, but time it for the slack to avoid current (high slack better than low due to the shallow depths).

This is some of my favorite footage I've ever shot. This was taken in Tulamben, Bali. Just a case of being in the right place at the right time! A pair of octupus who mated, and then one hung around and put on a great show! Incredible creatures-the color and texture changes they are capable of are just spellbinding to watch. We just returned from a fun trip to Kona, Hawaii that involved family, friends. Ironman, scuba diving, water slides and fun. All in only one week! We did two days of scuba diving, one of which is the signature dive for Kona, The Manta Night Dive. A definite don't miss experience! Here's the highlights: The answer is Oil Slick Leap! The entry and exit don't get any easier: a fun (and just a little scary!) giant stride into the water, and a ladder out of it. Usually the current is mild and you can go north or south. We did this dive three times on our recent two day trip! One of the sites on southern Bonaire that contain one of the most unique features of the island: the double reef system. The first reef is shallow after a swim over sand that increases the further south you go. The second reef is deeper: 60+ feet. At Angel CIty the second reef is a bit shallower than other sites: it starts at about 65 feet. Very unique! One of the classic dives on Bonaire. A don't miss site for sure! It only feels like a thousand steps on the way back up. Great dive! |
